Santaluz

At its core lies a private country club, replete with amenities and a world-class golf course.

Welcome to Santaluz

Elevated privacy and sprawling natural splendor put this incredible luxury golf community on the map of San Diego’s best residences.

Sweeping hillscapes so green they seem to glow from within spread out in the luxury golf community of Santaluz, nestled safely behind the neighborhood’s gated entrance. Just 15 minutes east of iconic beaches such as Del Mar and 30 minutes from the dynamic energy of San Diego, Santaluz’s ideal position between mountain, beach, and the city keeps its residents close to every adventure imaginable.

The crafting of modern-day Santaluz truly began in the 1990s, when two high-profile developers united to design a rustic paradise that incorporated the natural textures of the terrain with lavish abodes and architecture reminiscent of historic Southern California. At its core lies a private country club, replete with amenities and a world-class golf course.

Residential real estate in Santaluz is packed with custom and semi-custom homes, whose large lots and unique configurations make them a sanctuary retreat for their owners. Mediterranean-style exteriors are in harmony with contemporary design features and astounding amenities, and a large number of homes feature panoramic views of city lights, coastline, and mountains. All homes are designed specifically to invite the outdoors inside so that owners can enjoy the idyllic climate via patios, open-air verandas, and gardens.

Local Lifestyle

Santaluz draws a diverse crowd to its enchanting neighborhood and is well-suited for families thanks to its award-winning schools and collection of invigorating activities. Residents can be found engaging in any number of fulfilling hobbies and adventures, from horseback riding through the pristine open spaces to group exercise classes at the clubhouse.

Dining, Entertainment, Shopping

While Santaluz is primarily residential, the neighborhood is surrounded by plenty of commercial centers that are able to provide for the day-to-day needs of residents. For upscale designer shopping, the massive Fashion Valley Mall in Mission Valley is less than 30 minutes south and carries brands such as Chanel, Burberry, Coach, and Gucci.

Dining is in abundance in the Santaluz area as well, starting with the ever-popular Rosina’s Italian Restaurant right down the street from The Santaluz Club. Building on the bold recipes of Southern Italy for more than 30 years, Rosina’s is a family-owned homage to the culinary expertise of the region.

Best known for their farm-to-table fare and magnificent wine offerings, Dolce Pane e Vino is another restaurant celebrating the best of Italy. Whether you’re pairing a mouthwatering charcuterie board loaded with artisan cheese and prosciutto with a high-dollar wine or digging in for a dinner meal like the classic lasagna, Dolce is certain to impress.

Marlene’s Tea and Cakes bring refined tea-time to the San Diego area, complete with sweet treats made from locally-sourced ingredients. For those days when a dinner at home sounds more enticing than a night out, the Rancho Santa Fe Farmers Market is held on Sundays and provides the freshest produce and regional goods.

Things to Do

The heart of Santaluz is the extraordinary Santaluz Country Club and its 35,000 square-foot clubhouse. A rich color scheme and adobe walls reminiscent of early Spanish and Mexican Colonial styles set the tone for the club, whose amenities include outdoor fine dining, spa villas, tennis and fitness facilities, and of course, the award-winning, 18-hole Rees Jones Golf Course.

Perfect for families, Santaluz has a number of programs catering specifically to those with kids, such as the Toddler Play Groups and Santaluz Babies Club. Weekly events abound here, too, and Kids Night Out on Fridays and Camp Santaluz on Saturday mornings particularly adored by parents.

The Annual Fall Harvest Festival is one of the year’s biggest events, and this free-to-residents festival is laden with good times. Live concerts, pie and chili competitions, pony rides, games and food, and a beer garden for the grownups are just a few of the exciting features of this jovial event. The Summer Celebration and Fireworks Festival is another signature Santaluz event and draws nearly 3,000 residents to its bounty of gourmet barbecue and games. In the later months, the Winter Holiday Celebration offers up a cornucopia of cookie decorating, crafts, and pictures with Santa.
